Charleen Leslie (21 illustrations), this work follows the adventures of seven female
cousins (seven to nineteen) at their summer house as they go through the motions
of following the clues of a treasure map. In the process they visit their favorite island
haunts (the beach, the lighthouse, a special boat, a theater company, a fantasy island,
and a historical museum) and discover the story of an ancient wreck.
The text is bright and contemporary, having been written by the girls themselves. The
illustrations alone are worth the price of admission.
