Shaun ‘Skye’ M. Norris was born in Kearney, Nebraska and has enjoyed series like Throne of Glass, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, I am Number Four, Maximum Ride, and many others along with well-known manga such as Bleach, Chainsaw Man, Berserk, Jigokuraku, Black Clover and even more. He has also enjoyed various video games and the narratives within them such as Dark Soul 2, God of War, Death Stranding, Doom, and plenty more. All of these different forms of media and the stories they provided gave an inspiration to make one of his own series in Risen with an emphasis on gut wrenching violence, powerful emotional drama and logical outlooks on its dark fantasy world around its many characters.
