ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Jocelyn Swanson is a native Texan, the youngest of five children.

Growing up with an older sister and three brothers, each child had a gift. Hers was science and English. She had a curiosity for science and a passion for writing. She had wanted to write for Hallmark, but her love for science led her to major in biology and explore the medical field as a medical technologist. Later, she joined the army and is very proud of serving her country. Being quiet and a little shy writing was still what gave her a voice she could express how she felt and was something that was calming and gave her peace. After the death of her father when 13 and mother at 15, staying with her older cousin Howard and wife Mildred that she is very grateful because she never had to go to foster care or be in the system. She knew what her parents wanted and expectations, and what she needed to do, so college was always in her path.

Later she went back to school and became a social worker, where she said writing came in very handy.

She now loves to talk to people and find out how they feel and what they wish they had known.
