The Path Walked On

I could not have put this poetry book together without many twisted steps taken on a hilly path. For a good part of my life, I have felt the depths of loneliness and not belonging. I have come to realize that I was never truly alone on that path. There were many teachers along the way. Some taught me lessons that have lurked in my shadows and turned my soul. Some were guides leading me to rays of light. Step by step I have arrived here. In sharing my poems, my desire is that you might recognize a feeling, or have a spark of light enter your heart.

Reiki
Reiki is an ancient type of energy healing which comes from a Universal Life Energy that flows through the practitioner and is applied to the client. It is not the practitioner’s own energy and it cannot be specifically directed by the practitioner. Reiki has its own innate intelligence and knows where it is needed the most and goes there. Reiki promotes balance and harmony to the mind, body and soul. Reiki can be provided to all ages as well as pets.
Reiki can be applied in person or performed remotely. Since we are all made of energy and we are all connected, the physical in person touch is not necessary to have a Reiki session. In a distance Reiki session, you will need to set aside 30 – 45 minutes where you can be alone and relaxed. Wear comfortable clothing, have a glass of water nearby and open yourself to receiving healing energy. You may want to have soothing music, light a candle, burn incense or diffuse essential oils to make your space relaxing and enjoyable. It is suggested to have a pen and paper nearby as well to jot down any thoughts, feelings or sensations during the Reiki session. We will begin by a phone call or a text message to make sure that you are ready and then the distance Reiki will begin in silence. During the session, you may feel relaxed, calm, peaceful, tingling sensations, warm or cold sensations, cry, laugh, or other emotions or sensations, or you may not feel anything at all. All are okay as the Reiki energy is flowing to the areas that need it the most. At the end of the session, I will bring you back to awareness or send another text to let you know it is time to end. At that point in time, I will share any information I received during the session with you. Also at this time, eating a piece of chocolate may help you feel grounded.

Medium Reading
A medium reading entails connecting to loved ones in spirit. Many times we miss our loved ones and long to hear a message from them. In my experience, our loved ones are always around us, sending us signs and knowing what is happening in our lives now. I find that many times, the client will receive a message or information that provides a connection to their loved ones in spirit and can promote healing a part of themselves or part of their grief. A reading can provide comfort in the knowledge that our loved ones in spirit are not as far away as we sometimes feel that they are since they are no longer physically present.
I have always been sensitive to the energies around me, whether in this physical world or in the spirit world. I have not always honored this ability and for a long time, tried to be “normal” and I put that part of me hidden away. However, that part of me is courageous enough to come forward now and to help others as best as I can. I have witnessed the enormous comfort that a reading can bring to a client. I have done formal training with advanced mediums to learn how to interpret the information that comes through to me and to put my sensitivies into practice.
Please note that I only practice connecting with loved ones in spirit and I do not practice psychic, predicting the future readings. Also, I might not connect with the person or pet that you miss the most. That does not mean that such person or pet is not around or that they are not okay. There are many reasons why a specific loved one does not come through during a specific reading, such as, there may be another loved one that may want to get a message across instead, the loved one may still be new at learning to communicate with a medium, the loved one may not be able to vibe on my same frequency, the loved one feels that you may not need anything from them at this point in time (even if you really, really think that you do need them at this point in time), or for some other reason that is unknown to me, as a human, still living on earth. I do not have all the answers and I will not pretend to have all the answers. Also, I am not a therapist or a medical professional and receiving a medium reading is not a substitute for professional help in dealing with your grief. I will do the connection with spirit ahead of our meeting and then share with you what I have received. The meeting will run between 30 minutes to an hour.
