ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Oyibo Afoaku is an advocate, educator, author, consultant, and community leader with over  30 years’ experience in diversity, equity and inclusive excellence in American higher education. She holds a BA in U.S. and European History and Washington State Initial Teaching Certificate from Washington State University, Pullman. Oyibo obtained a Master’s degree in African, Asian and Latin American History (AAL) from the University of Northern Colorado, Greeley, and a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership from Indiana State University, Terre Haute. She is the founder and coordinator of Harambee, a community support group that fosters an inclusive climate and, Global Dialogue Initiative, an international committee dedicated to promoting intergroup harmony, equity and inclusion through constructive dialogues on contemporary social, political and economic issues.
