“A rare find in today’s books — a rare and honest conversation so needed. A call
to hope and help, to not silently suffer alone.”
—September McCarthy,
Author of Raising Daughters,
Hope for Your Homeschool,
and Why Motherhood Matters

What if the healing you want is not the healing you need most?

Lynnelle Peters understands irrational fear, shame and the desperate longing to be
healed. In the midst of a postpartum mental health crisis, she found herself wrestling
with the truth she had always professed to believe and questioning everything she knew
to be true about herself. Through the restorative practices of honest lament, declaration
and surrender she will show you how to embrace God’s presence and grow profoundly
in the midst of suffering.

Rich in hard earned wisdom, ardent storytelling and biblical truth, But First Honesty offers:
• a poignant glimpse into the heartache associated with postpartum OCD
• hope for the one weighed down by anxiety, grief & trauma
• clinical and biblical insights for renewing the mind
• a pathway to peace for those struggling to be honest in their pain

Lynnelle says, “It is the way of our Maker to use the hard, the ugly and, sometimes, the excruciatingly painful to teach us that it’s not about figuring out all the right answers but learning to fall into a right and honest relationship with him.

That’s why we have breath in our lungs. It’s what we were made for.”

This is not a story of quick fixes or effortless faith. It is an invitation to stop pretending, bring the whole truth of our suffering into God’s presence, and discover that honesty is not the end of faith—but often where deeper healing begins.
