Identity, Shame and Gospel Transformation

One’s sense of self, also known as identity, is formed from our relationships, events, and personal choices. Sadly, these experiences can cause us to adopt false internal messages that leave us mired in a swamp of constant comparison, perfectionism, pretense, and people pleasing—slowly distorting our identities with shame.

Yasha, the name chosen by the author, is a woman defined by shame, which has stolen her sense of worth and value, leaving her abandoned, alone, unclean through no fault of her own, and vulnerable. Through Yasha’s story and related spiritual exercises, Lucy Foster guides women to journey with her each week in Ezekiel 16:3-14 to not only identify their voices of shame and name the lies they’ve believed, but also to gradually discover and experience life-giving transformation through their new God-given identity in Jesus Christ. Through Lucy’s wisdom and biblical insights, women will discover how to be open and honest with themselves and God in order to live authentically, joyfully, and purposefully as a cleansed, treasured, and beloved daughter of God. This workbook also includes access to short video teaching sessions as well as coloring pages for reflection.

Chosen, Clean, and Clothed is a personal study rooted in biblical truth that guides women to live in their God given identity and walk again in the light of His hope and healing.
