THE AUTHOR

Ceil Baker Humphreys was born in Macon, Georgia, and graduated from the University of Georgia, where her favorite subject was children’s literature. For the next 40 years, when she wasn’t teaching, she was volunteering in her sons’ schools. Now retired, she volunteers at her church and teaches sewing classes at the Orlando Union Rescue Mission. Since she was a child, Ceil has loved all things sheep, especially knitting, weaving, and crocheting wool brought back from travels to countries that actually have sheep (unlike Florida, where she now lives). Her favorite event at the Highland Games every year is the sheep dog demonstrations, which sparked the idea for this book. Ceil and her husband Wesley have been married since 1972 and have two sons, Robert and Michael, and six grandchildren who bring them so much joy. This book is for them. A study guide for this book is available online at Teachers Pay Teachers.
