Author addresses addiction to help sow seeds of recovery<\/strong>

\"\"<\/a>Catherine Yack\u2019s latest book on addiction, \u201cSowing Seeds of Recovery,\u201d is a revealing self-portrait about forgiveness and healing.<\/p>\n

She begins by retelling the story of her life from drug and alcohol addiction to recovery. It\u2019s a life drawn from unhealthy childhood chaos to spiritual balance in adulthood.<\/p>\n

Yack uses her story in \u201cSowing Seeds of Recovery\u201d as an inspiration for others.<\/p>\n

\u201cI knew deep down inside, I knew I was supposed to help people,\u201d said Yack.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a compelling story that will have enormous impact on the reader. Yack spent years battling through recovery after recovery, struggling with the bitterness that held her in the grip of addiction.<\/p>\n

\u201cSomething happened to me, the anger flared up. I realized how much I was capable of allowing that anger to built up inside,\u201d Yack said.<\/p>\n

In her horror she turned to another person who had never given up on her and together they helped each other through a spiritual reawakening.<\/p>\n

Yack writes about spiritual balance citing \u201cmany reasons why it is so important that we allow God to search our innermost beings to be sure we don\u2019t allow any darkness to live within us. The two are incompatible.\u201d Realizing the conflict within she said she turned to her creator to develop the seeds of solace.<\/p>\n

She calls her approach \u201ca pathway\u201d for the affected, adding \u201cSowing Seeds of Recovery\u201d is not just a book about addiction but a road map for anyone to recover from the pains of life.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis book has something for everyone to learn how to cope with hurts and be healed without further trauma,\u201d she said.
\nCatherine Yack and her husband Gaylon are ministers serving at the Open Arms Community Church in Vernal.<\/p>\n

Yack is the author of two other recovery books: \u201cAncient Secrets of Christian Warrior\u201dand \u201cThink Outside the Fish.\u201d
\nYack will be signing copies of her latest book \u201cSowing Seeds of Recovery\u2019 at the Uintah County Library on Nov. 30 from noon until 6 p.m.<\/p>\n
