Bishop Alton Smith has served in ministry for over thirty-five years. He has served in Pastoral Ministry for thirty-three years. He is a pastor, teacher, mentor and friend. He is the Senior Pastor of the St. Mark Church of Christ, Disciples of Christ and the General President of the General Assembly Church of Christ, Disciples of Christ, International and Incorporated.
He has authored one book, Order in the Church: Proper Church Etiquette and Protocol. He has co-authored two books: Pressing Toward the Mark and The Bishops of the General Assembly Church of Christ, Disciples of Christ International, Inc.
Bishop Alton A. Smith is a native of Goldsboro, NC, where he lives with his wife, Doris.
