No me moví. Mantuve mi posición, siempre tan quieta. Esa luz no me asustó. Me daba calor y me sentía segura.
I was left numb and afraid of the words he constantly said to me in that room, warning me to never say anything to anyone. “That was a nightmare that haunted me for decades.”
The innocence broken at six years old, the fear, the silence, the darkness, the suffering and the anguish of not understanding is the painful story that reflects The Light That Saved Me.
“He didn’t say a word after finishing. I didn’t say a word. “I just cried.”
How much pain can the same person endure in their childhood, then in their adolescence and also in their youth? How much helplessness? How is it possible to continue when life attacks again and again? How much abuse can a soul take? Is there a place for forgiveness?
“The light was so bright it was hard to open your eyes. I couldn’t speak or hear around me. I didn’t move. I maintained my position, always so still. That light didn’t scare me. It made me warm and I felt safe. I didn’t want it to disappear. But she did and so I set out to find her again.”
Trust, support, forgiveness and the security of love are the answers presented by The Light That Saved Me. The miracle of a new hope is always possible by the grace of God.
